Chris Rednour, who created the Hit Archives map and mock-ups, also did mock-ups for Eclipso Vol. 1 and 2.

I should point out this map of Hit excludes Kid Eternity, who should have his own solo archive line.

It started out as a map of "Betty Bates, Lady-at-Law" [done in two] the second longest back-up strip in Hit Comics [61 issues, just behind the comedy strip "Bob and Swab" who were in all 65] and Stormy Foster, the Great Defender [done in one]. Owen convinced me a map of Hit instead might make more sense.

I reworked my Stormy Foster cover [now Hit Archive 8] and one of my two Betty Bates covers [now Hit Archive 14], as well as my previous Red Bee cover [now Hit Archive 2] and added a Hercules [Hit Archive 1] and Neon the Unknown [Hit Archive 3] to it.

This is my first attempt at a map, and I thank Owen for editing it to make it a better one; the early issues which were uniformly 64 pages were all very easy to do but as the series went on the page rate fluxuated a bit, eventually dropping permanently at least twice during its later yeaers. This made the later run particularlly hard for me to plan since I was trying to keep all the volumes at around the same number as much as possible and the page rate was droping plus for 35 or so issues we weren't keeping in the lead Kid Eternity feature. But I guess its dilemma's like that which make mapping out archives interesting.

It's funny to think, that Kid Eternity aside, the biggest/most well known lead/cover feature in Hit Comics was the Red Bee!!!

... and they call him an obscure, 4th stringer! bah!! ... heh heh.

Name/Covers/Issue appearances

Hercules/9/21
Kid Eternity/35/35
Neon the Unknown/4/17
Red Bee/4/24
Stormy Foster/7/16
Jeb Rivers/5/5

What's kinda interesting is that Red Bee and Neon the Unknown - due to their recent use - are probably more familiar than Hercules, Stormy Foster and Jeb Rivers who all had more cover appearances.

But The Red Bee definately puts the other [non Kid Eternity] cover features down in longevity at 24 issues. But even The Bee is dwarfed by non-cover features Bob and Swab [65] and Betty Bates, Lady-At-Law [61].
